Installation best practices

Installation Tips for R

  • Use mounting screws provided where possible
  • If using different mounting screws use #6 flat head screws
  • Drill correct sized hole and necessary depth for wires to avoid mounting difficulties
  • Use care when mounting reader on backplate to avoid damage

Installation tips for M

    • Take special care when working on a door with a door bevel. See guide under “Using Latch M cut sheets with a door bevel”
    • Do not over tighten screws. Particularly when working on a hollow door.
    • It is recommended to leave all screws loose until the battery tray is installed. Tighten all screws before installing battery tray.
    • Test thumb turn and confirm that it turns easily. If not the door prep might not be correct.
